Bro Mun's Birthday

Most of us will know the Bible Verse Number John 3:16 and it is also an easy reminder for our beloved Bro Mun's Birth Date - March 16. Senang sahaja lah, so need no reminders the next time okay? Hahaha........

Bro Mun being blessed by Bro Frank and cell members after the Cell Meeting held in 10-6-5. Notice Bro Chow is also doing his part? Hallelujah, Praise the Lord.

Birthday Boy being affectionately kissed by his wonderful and loving wife...not after the above lah, but after a Charity Dinner

Look !!!! the end results........lipstick marks all over Bro Mun's face....luckily, those marks were from Sis Haan, otherwise "water wash also cannot clear" ( in Cantonese please)

May the Lord bless Bro Mun, Sis Haan and the family with divine health, long life and continue to cause his face to shine upon each and every one of them. In Jesus' name. Amen.

"Why Jesus said "do not tell anyone..." part 2 ?

I googled the title "Why Jesus said "do not tell anyone..." and a series of different interpretation on why Jesus said what he said...

1. http://bible.cc/matthew/8-4.htm
2. http://www.heartlight.org/wjd/matthew/0424-wjd.html
3. http://www.unioncongregational-ucc.org/sermon-disobeyingjesus.htm

They are many answers to The "why" issue depending on which angles we are looking at.
Another answer could be this - When Jesus told the lepers not to tell anyone and go to the Priest and perform a sacrifice/ testimonial like what Moses instructed it is because Jesus wanted to show an example that He is here to fulfill the LAW of God the Father which was instructed thru Moses by God himself about sacrifices and testimonials, hence the reason why Jesus had instructed for the Lepers to do so. The way I see it, Jesus has even "kau tim" the LAW for us because He knows we can never ever fulfill 100% of the LAW which God has set during the old testament namely the old covenant. ( hope i am making some sense here)

Matt 17: 9
As they went back down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Don’t tell anyone what you have seen until the Son of Man[b] has been raised from the dead.”

In Matt 17:9 - Jesus said again, not to tell anyone on what happened about the transfiguration until His death and is raised from the dead. I am sure there is a clear reason/various reason on why He said what He said...
Discussions and comments anyone? GB

Why Jesus said "Do not Tell anyone..."

After last friday's Cell Meeting, I did some research and the following extract may enlighten us. Happy reading..........Praise the Lord. GB.

CH

"One of the biggest mysteries of the Gospels over the years is why Jesus did not want anyone to tell others who he was. Some suggest it was just a psychological ploy to get the people to do just the opposite. Others suggest that he wanted to reveal his identity himself and not have it distorted by well-meaning but ill-informed people.
It seems to me that Jesus didn't want the people to go around saying who he is because this puts him in a mold, a category, a title, that the people of his day had pre-defined. Jesus wants to redefine the meaning of Son of God. He wants to re-wire the circuits of what people think that it means to be Christ, the Messiah of the Jews. So until he can live it and show it, he refuses to let others spread it. He will let his life, the cross, and his resurrection define his identity. Only then will he send his disciples out to tell the entire world who he is!
There is something wonderfully essential about the cross and resurrection that helps us define Jesus' identity. Without them, we are not only misinformed, but we are also without a true Savior"

PCG doing our part for the Lovely Disabled Home Project

It was a hot Sunday afternoon but nevertheless, the "PCG Bolih" spirit never fear the heat. PCG members together with Pastor SS Loh, Sis Vivienne, Pastor Teo (Hock) and many other NLRC members were assigned to an area near Sec 14 to collect recycleable items for Lovely Disabled Home. We were indeed blessed to have two strong and fit members (Bro Wilson & Bro Alvin) who worked tirelessly ferrying the items such as old newspapers, old books, magazines, etc. The rest of the team too assisted by going on a Door-to-Door request. Some of dogs were all behind the lock gates were barking frantically..........wonder who had previously tasted 3 6 (Sarm Loke). Hahaha..... All of us had a very fruitful and meaningful time and returned home knowing that PCG has contributed to help others. Praise the Lord. GB.

Bible Reading

The church started bible reading campaign on 22nd Feb. We apologise for not passing the recommended schedule to you all earlier. We have forwarded the schedule and power point presentation to you. Please refer to your mail.

We have prepared a Google Doc preadsheet "Bible Reading Record" Just click on link below  http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pL5zNIVzGpnA0VGogkkX9Bw&hl=en

OR Go to Gmail, sign in, click on Doc at left   upper corner, open Bible reading Record. Go the column assigned for you, key in 1 for the corresponding verses you have read, and 0 for those you have missed. The spread sheet will automatically tabulate the scores which we'll have to forward to the librarians.

We may not be aiming for the prizes, but all of us should try our best to achieve 100%.
