The following is an interesting article which I came across and I hope it will be an encouragement to all of us....be like a Joshua.

True Success
Success, by the world’s standards, is measured by wealth. The more money you have, the more successful you are. But is this true success?
I believe that true success is determined by the Creator, not the created. In other words, God made us and therefore He determines what makes us successful or not. His owners’ manual for success is the Bible and when we live by it, we are successful.
Joshua 1:7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
There are many who will gain the world but lose their soul. They will have money but no peace. They will have fame but no friends. They will be ‘successful’ but their lives will have been a waste.
Is there anything wrong with having money? Not at all but a couple things are important to note. Having money does not make anyone better than someone with no money. Money is not the measuring rod of success; obedience to God’s Word is.
Do you want to be successful in life? Live by God’s Word.

Are All religions same ?
Father Abraham has 3 sons. One is a defender of Mosaic Law. Preaching righteousness in synagogue. Don't play play with him. I think he should look like Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
Another one , takes joy in hunting down sinners of the law. He has eyes that see speck of dust, nose that smells rats before rats appear. He is more like Sherlock Holmes, wearing binoculars, holding magnifying glass. Oop! what's that? - a new gadget. I forgot, Valentine is round the corner, he needs this stick to lift up skirts to check for panties. At another time, he assumes another role, a prosecutor. And after presenting his prosecution, he sits on the bench to judge. His duty doesn't end here, not until he executes the rightful punishments on the sinners. What a diligent son!
The last one, doesn't look so cool. You can find him among the sinners, the outcasts and the cast-outs. Nursing their wounds, rebuilding their lives. He is conspicuously absent in big charity events where V.V.I.Ps sing praises. Only the voiceless sings him praise.

Ducks quack Eagles Soar
Ducks quack, Eagles Soar!
No one can make you serve customers well. That's because great service is a choice. Harvey Mackay, tells a wonderful story about a cab driver that proved this point.
He was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing Harvey noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Harvey .
He handed my friend a laminated card and said: 'I'm Wally, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.'
Taken aback, Harvey read the card. It said:
Wally's Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment.
This blew Harvey away. Especially when he noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean! As he slid behind the wheel, Wally said, 'Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.'
My friend said jokingly, 'No, I'd prefer a soft drink'.
Wally smiled and said, 'No problem. I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, water and orange juice.'
Almost stuttering, Harvey said, 'I'll take a Diet Coke'.
Handing him his drink, Wally said, 'If you'd like something to read, I have The Wall Street Journal, Time, Sports Illustrated and USA Today'.
As they were pulling away, Wally handed my friend another laminated card, These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you'd like to listen to the radio. And as if that weren't enough, Wally told Harvey that he had the air conditioning on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for him. Then he advised Harvey of the best route to his destination for that time of day. He also let him know that he'd be happy to chat and tell him about some of the sights or, if Harvey preferred, to leave him with his own thoughts.
'Tell me, Wally,' my amazed friend asked the driver, 'have you always served customers like this?'
Wally smiled into the rear view mirror. 'No, not always. In fact, it's only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard the personal growth guru, Wayne Dyer, on the radio one day. He had just written a book called 'You'll See It When You Believe It'. Dyer said that if you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disappoint yourself. He said, 'Stop complaining! Differentiate yourself from your competition. Don't be a duck. Be an eagle. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd. That hit me right between the eyes,' said Wally. 'Dyer was really talking about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers. The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more'.
'I take it that has paid off for you,' Harvey said.
'It sure has,' Wally replied. 'My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year I'll probably quadruple it. You were lucky to get me today. I don't sit at cabstands anymore. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on my answering machine. If I can't pick them up myself, I get a reliable cabbie friend to do it and I take a piece of the action'.
Wally was phenomenal. He was running a limo service out of a Yellow Cab. I've probably told that story to more than fifty cab drivers over the years, and only two took the idea and ran with it. Whenever I go to their cities, I give them a call. The rest of the drivers quacked like ducks and told me all the reasons they couldn't do any of what I was suggesting.
Wally the Cab Driver made a different choice. He decided to stop quacking like ducks and start soaring like eagles. How about us?
A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Hi everyone,
Dad is finally out of ICU and is now in his own room (Room 661). This will is great milestone for him today and hopefully he will be able to discharge this weekend or early next week. Will depend on his movement and how well his wound heal but for someone his age he is doing remarkably well. Don't think this is possible without your prayers, your time, concern & well wishes. A big thank you from me and the rest of our family.
After spending a couple day in ICU, it is evident that life is so unpredictable & fragile. Fortunately in dad's case it turn out well but not everyone in ICU; so if there is anything we can learn out of this event recently is don't take anything for granted and share your love around esp those dear to you. For those who know my parents, they are complaining the curtains are too short and glue to the TV again. In a way it is good sign because life is returning to normal. Halleluja.
God bless.

PCG's visit to New Life Ampang-31st Jan 2010

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord. PCG turned up almost in full force in support of Ampang New Life Church last Sunday. Sis Pui Si gave an excellent testimony of how the Lord has spoken to her, blessed and transformed her family. Bro Wilson and Sis Mae blessed some boxes of juicy Mandarin Oranges for fei-loh-ship. Our leader Bro Frank and Sis Jo also prayed and blessed some of the Ampang members. Bro Mun shared with some new found friends too.
Let us continue to uphold this church in our prayers and pray that New Life Ampang will impact many lives in the vicinity, the church to grow from strength to strength and glorify God even at a higher level. Hallelujah.
Remember that this year 2010, NLRC has proclaimed of God’s Love and God’s Love cast out all fears and releases Grace, Authority, Trust and Hope. So Brothers and Sisters, go for it………… and do our best and leave it to God to do the rest. GB.
