The Great Commission
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Samuel Lim Jeng Xian's testimony

Samuel has finally found some time to write about his experience. Though short, it is straight to the point. Thanking God and giving Him all the glory for saving his life. Hallelujah.

"It was no accident that I fainted at school and threw up blood for no reason.
Before that incident, I was a normal boy but all changed…I was different in a way. I was made special, I have visions of a man named Jesus Christ of Nazareth and I thank the Lord for everything He did in my life and the ones who prayed for me. I am really grateful. Even though the doctor has lost hope, even though I was in I.C.U., the pastors, church members, cell members and all around the world continued to pray for me. I thank you all…
Even though I nearly died, the church didn’t lose hope and I was in pain…they prayed for me and I was healed, I really was touched and I didn’t cry.
Thank you everyone and I will pray for each and everyone."

Frank & C.H. Are Right : Alcohol is GOOD FOR YOU

Mediterranean diet: Importance of individual components

The Mediterranean diet is associated with lower overall mortality, but the relative importance of the various components of the diet is unknown. A study in Greece has provided some pointers.
The study included 23,349 men and women. After an average follow-up of 8.5 years, mortality was 652/12,694 among people with a Mediterranean diet score of 0–4 and 423/10,655 among people with a score of 5 or more. After controlling for confounders, the Mediterranean diet was associated with a significant reduction in mortality of 14% per 2-unit increase in score. Moderate consumption of alcohol contributed 23.5% to this reduction; low consumption of meat and meat products, 16.6%; high consumption of vegetables, 16.2%; high consumption of fruit and nuts, 11.2%; high monounsaturated: saturated fat ratio, 10.6%; and high consumption of legumes, 9.7%. High intake of fish and seafood was associated with a non-significant increase in mortality. High consumption of cereals and low con sumption of dairy products had little effect.
The most protective components of the Mediterranean diet are moderate alcohol intake, low intake of meat and meat products, and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, nuts, olive oil and legumes.

Response to New Life Forum

PCG members:- Surely we are not a NATO cell group, are we? Surely, there will be some views from you of the church which you have been keeping close to your chest? Not to worry, now you may visit http://newlifeforum.blogspot.com and contribute your views.

For your information, our beloved Doc had put in a lot of effort to create the abovementioned blog with a view of extending/linking to the rest of the church members. So, let us support this noble action by contributing and remember, positive comments and suggested solutions, if any. If we are not active, how can we expect the others to contribute? GB.

To give glory to God

To those who have any testimonies, please do write and blog them so that all the glory goes to Him.

Recently, Our Almighty God has healed and restored Bro Wilson's vision and has caused Bro David to stop puffing. These are two fine examples which both Bro Wilson and Bro David can blog their experiences so that their testimonies will not only glorify God but will also encourage others (especially to those who read this blog). Hallelujah.

So, over to all you Brothers and Sisters. GB

Great worship, Great Sharing, Great Fellowship, Great Fei loship

With our regular professional PCG photographers namely Doc Liu and Bro CH not around on Friday Fellowship, no photos were taken during our Pot Bless Fellowship Cum Matt Party. Everyone were so engross with worship, sharing and "fellowshiping" with the guests, we forgot to take some pictures for the blog.

But anyway, you will have to imagine the variety of dishes we had after our unit leader Ps. SS Loh finished sharing, where we continued our fellowship at the dinning table filled a fusion of western, chinese and japanese dishes.

Bro David invited Mr.Lollipop The Clown & his lovely wife, Evelyn and two sons (remember him ? He came for our charity blowing competition with his clown costume) and on my side, invited a couple friend, well, supposed to be Casey's friend, Jess and her hubby, Ken, who is a chef (who made the teriyaki chicken dish...hmm, can still remember the taste of the tender, juicy, chicken marinated with teriyaki sauce).

We literally "gasak" all the food before we adjourned to have more fellowship with our guests. Bro Wilson, our "Siow" leader for 2010 as usual prepared some balloons for Mr. Lollipop to make some cute balloon shapes for the children. Imagine the excitement from the children having heart shaped and sword like balloons, running here and there.

On the other end, the more matured "fellowshipping" chatting away on, yes, our favourite topic - Food and with Ken, the chef who just came back from Japan after two years stint as a head chef for an international hotel chain, gladly add in more "flavours" into topic.

All in all, a truly blessed time. Looking forward to another Matt's Party sometime soon and hope to see more new friends/ guests to join in.
