When I read today's headlines in The Star, I just felt this 'rage' that a life is lost in exchange for what - some cash or maybe a handphone? Is there no compassion left for a fellow human being, I wonder how does the bas**** (forgive me, Lord) feel when he knows, through his action, has ended the life of another .... an unborn child, 2 motherless children .....
I felt the pain because I was a victim of a snatch thief recently ........
It happened last Sunday in front of KL Convention Centre - we were crossing the road (after visiting the Homedec Expo) to our car parked in the opposite building. We had to stop halfway because there was this motorbike slowly coming towards us (a guy & a girl as pillon rider). Right behind, another motorbike (a single person) came close slowly and stopped in front of me. Within a split second, he pulled my handbag from my right hand. My immediate reaction was to held on, he pulled me along but when he accelerated, I lost my balance and fell - did a double rollover on the road. When Choong heard my scream and realized what's happening, he chased after the motorbike but stopped when he saw me lying on the road. Rowena and Rianna were too startled to react.
After the incident, we spoke to the security guard at KLCC - he said the guy that snatched my bag was actually waiting in front of the convention centre earlier; there was also another bike waiting at the road entrance. Thus, the episode was planned and I was singled out as a target.
Aside from being shaken up, some bruises on my shoulders and my right side from waist to my thigh turning blue black, I am ok - Thank God for His protection! Aching all over though, must be due to the exertion!
I just like to highlight this especially to the ladies as most, if not all, snatch theft victims are females. Please be alert and be aware of your surrondings ........ PTL!
