Aortic Stent Procedure

Endovascular stent graft
Instead of open aneurysm repair, your vascular surgeon may consider a newer procedure called an endovascular stent graft. Endovascular means that the treatment is performed inside your artery using long, thin tubes called catheters that are threaded through your blood vessels. This procedure is less invasive, meaning that your surgeon will usually need to make only small incisions in your groin area through which to thread the catheters. During the procedure, your surgeon will use live x-ray pictures viewed on a video screen to guide a fabric and metal tube, called an endovascular stent graft  (or endograft), to the site of the aneurysm. Like the graft in open surgery, the endovascular stent graft also strengthens the aorta. Your recovery time for endovascular stent grafting is usually shorter than for the open surgery, and your hospital stay may be reduced to 2 to 3 days. However, this procedure requires more frequent follow-up visits with imaging procedures, usually CT scans, after endograft placement to be sure the graft continues to function properly.  Also, the endograft is more likely to require periodic maintenance procedures than does the open procedure. In addition, your aneurysm may not have the shape that is suitable for this procedure, since not all patients are candidates for endovascular repair because of the extent of the aneurysm, or its relationship to the renal (kidney) arteries, or other issues. While the endovascular stent graft may be a good option for some patients who have suitable aneurysms and who have medical conditions increasing their risk, in some other cases, open aneurysm repair may still be the best way to cure AAA. Your vascular surgeon will help you decide what is the best method of treatment for your particular situation.

Re; Report on last CG 30th Jan

Dear all, here is a short report on last CG at RSC(Bukit Kiara) and 10-6-5.
Firstly, Jo'and I thank you all for joining in the simple dinner but the fellowship was lively with Bro. Chow sharing so many insights of his personal life with us after 2years in the CG. Truly God is at work in him as he continue to share further when we're @ 10-6-5 TV. As Bro Chow continued to share with ease, i felt in my spirit he knows we are now a part of his bigger family in Christ. All Glory to God, the loving father to all.
For the record the cg did not end until 1.40am (way past out usual cg midnight) with Bro. AK having a compelling urge to pray for bro. Chow. It must be the Holy Spirit anointing !!! We thank God for His loving kindness and mercy to see strongholds being broken in Bro. Chow and in so many of our lives too. I believe this is truly the year of God's possibilities for those who are faithful and put their hope and trust in the Lord. Lastly, on behalf of PCG our thanks and appreciations to Sis. Amelia/Bro. AK for being so thoughtful to give every family a beautiful handmade gifts of goodies to take home. GBU, love from Bro. Frank and Sis . Josephine.

Fellowship at Royal Selangor Club, Bkt Kiara

Bro Frank blessed the cell members with a sumptous makan and loh sang.........plus vino at the RSC Bukit Kiara last Friday, being the last friday of the month. After dinner, we proceeded to Tivoli Villas for Praise and Worship to our Lord Jesus Christ and prayers. Unfortunately, Bro Wilson, Bro Mun, Bro David and their families were unable to join the occasion.

It was a great time of sharing by Bro Chris Chow and we trust that the Lord will continue to minister to him to re unite with his family. We know it will happen as this is the year of God's Possibilites as proclaimed by NLRC. "....with God all things are possible"- Matthew 19:26. Hallelujah!. Indeed, it was a marathon night out lah.
